Memory Cafè Initiative

Memory Cafes create a welcoming atmosphere where people can share their observations and feelings about the journey of memory loss.  People with early memory loss and their support people gather on a regular basis, to connect with others who are facing the same questions and concerns, and begin to build community of support.

Cafes are facilitated by volunteers and professionals.  A Memory Cafe is one way to provide support for people with early memory loss.  Memory Cafes differ from support groups in that they are focused on providing education and enrichment in a supportive environment within the community.  By hosting Memory Cafes in community settings, whole communities can come together to support persons with memory loss and create a community that is welcoming and inclusive.
